Rugs
The majority of ILVA’s rugs are made from natural materials such as wool, cotton or other natural fibres. Our cotton rugs can be machine-washed, but only up to 40 degrees. However, they may contain excess dye, so it is recommended that they be washed separately. Our wool rugs must be professionally-cleaned to achieve good results. Washing/cleaning with brush machines is not recommended. Spots can be cleaned using approved spot cleaning agents stocked by ILVA.
As a general rule the fewer chemicals used, the better it is for the rugs. So cleaning spots with water/mineral water and cornflour works well. If you’re not sure what to do, contact the ILVA rug department.
We recommend anti-slip underlay for all rugs.
